Usually portrayed as a lanky man wearing a long-handled pot on his head and spreading apple seeds, the real Johnny Appleseed was a shrewd businessman and religious zealot who played an important role in U.S. westward expansion effort. The History Guy explores the reality underlying the character of American folklore. This is the forgotten history of the man, John Chapman, behind the legend of Johnny Appleseed.

Muncie, Indiana. Barely anything on this 2-2500 year old circle henge site. Unlike 99% of ruins in the U.S., location is not given for whatever reason. I find the Yorktown Enclosure and report on what is known...and what happened in 2015. Seems similar to the henge in Mounds State Park in Anderson, though smaller, maybe 175 ft across. Any info on this place today?
Some 750 miles from Hawaii, tiny Johnston Atoll was developed into an airbase and seaplane base during the Second World War. After the war, the developed facilities on a remote base put Johnston at the center of Cold War programs from nuclear tests to spy satellites to storing leftover chemical weapons. The History Guy recalls the forgotten history of the world's most interesting wildlife preserve.

more underwater lost history. 11,500 year old Hallan Cemi. Archaeological work went on here 2 years after it was discovered in 1989 because of dam construction on the Batman River near the Tigris River.
Alabama. My report on the Housing Development called Flint Crossing by Jeff Benton Homes put in over a 1500 year old village in the Hampton Cove/Big Cove Area of Huntsville, Alabama. This story started smelling right away. Links below
Domesticated in Peru, potatoes came to the Old World with the Columbian Exchange. But Europeans did not take to them easily. From a local staple of the people of the Andes Mountains to one of the most ubiquitous foods in the world, potatoes have a surprising history. The History Guy recalls the forgotten history of the food that transformed Europe.

Five Ancient History News Stories. A hill fort in Scotland, petroglyphs in Iran having an ancient America connection(?), a discovery at Angkor Wat, a story from Petra in Jordan and a review of findings at Gobekli Tepe and I mention the ancient Armenian name for the ancient site in Turkey and it's connection to Egypt and Osiris.
Dasha Alexandrov, author of The Cat Traveler & Eugenia Oganova, author of The Secret of Sekhmet, this was said: In the Sirian star system there are four species: felines, humanoids, cetaceans, and Urmah. Felines look like giant cats; humanoids look like tall people with white-blue skin and elongated heads, some are amphibious; cetaceans are similar to whales and dolphins, they live in the water mostly, but some are amphibious and spend some time on dry land; and Urmah – they are humanoid-feline hybrids, they have feline and humanoid (white-blue skin) forms overlapping. I would say Perri wasn't reading into it far enough. I suppose the cat statues were considered dolls or fictional deities. I got no problem looking to the stars and realizing the bar scene in Star Was could be real. :D
recap Pyramid Lake and then briefly go over an excellent PDF on the little known Wizard Beach Man. Over 10,000 years old and found in 1968 near The Needles on the north end of the Lake in N. Nevada.
You careport on ancient America from Texas. The mysterious story of Bonfire Shelter. Hundreds of Bison plunged to their deaths at a few periods in history. One right at the end of the cataclysmic Younger Dryas Period and the bison and other extinct mega-fauna burst into flames? What is the story here?
