Subjects To Be Prepared For Ias Examinations

The civil service examination is conducted every year by the UPSC or the Union Public Service Commission, it is otherwise also known as the IAS examination. It is known to be a very tough and one of the most competitive examinations and there are very few individuals who are able to crack the exam. Although the exam may be tough but there are still a few who are able to score good marks and pass the exam and get a job too.

This is not only limited to fashion but also in matters related to politics, games and even careers, in all kinds of languages. Parents asking their kids to get pursue general knowledge studies they are only helping them to hone their skills. This will help them to comply with the challenges of the outside world.

The prelims for the IAS examination are an objective type paper which is held in the month of June every year. The first paper of the examination consists of general knowledge with maximum marks of 150, for which you have to answer 100 questions.

Time duration for the exam is about 2 hours and the candidate has to answer questions about six topics which are Indian History, Constitution of India, Economics, Science, Current Affairs and Geography. The second paper is optional and consists of paper including the political science, Economics, Psychology and Physics, etc. This exam consists of maximum 300 marks with 120 questions to answer for which the time duration is about 2 hours.

Earlier the candidates had the liberty to choose the first subject as optional which would be their main stream subject and the prelims exam was found to be mostly covered in it. Moreover they only had to decide on the second optional subject. Currently, every candidate is provided with equal opportunity and equal liberty so they have to take a decision on the two optional subjects for the mains exam with more flexibility and having different criteria in mind. This is also going to determine the chances of the candidate to crack the exams.

When people look to have general knowledge about the history, they not only look to get information about the kings or the queens but also about the currency that was used at that time or even the culture they used to follow, also about the languages they used for communication and methods of transportation. Also gain information about the main occupations and how it evolved.

It will definitely play an important role in determining the optional subject too. You should get enough resources to prepare for the subject. You can also consult with an expert regarding this, instead of getting yourself with a new subject.

The candidates are display their social traits, personality, teamwork skills and leadership qualities in them. They also give the test for their aptitude and skills which usually involved in work. The interview is conducted by the UPSC member and the interview is held at Shahjahan in New Delhi. The candidates then selected are given proper foundation training and then job oriented training which are conducted separately based on the services.
