Tape In Extensions Are Painless

By Maria Turner

Sometimes it can be difficult to choose the right hairstyle or color. No matter how many beauty products come on the market or a person puts in the effort, there are times when a particular style will not happen. Many people would rather try something simple, like tape in extensions, which are easy to apply and care for.

This new method of weaving hair has become a lot easier in recent years. There was once a time when options were limited to methods that went from one extreme to another. A person could easily add a semi permanent glue that had the potential to damage the strands or sit in a salon chair for hours. Depending on the operator and condition of the hair, the results could be believable or obvious.

Now the choices available are incredible. While basic hair colors are nice, trendy custom colors allow anyone to make a fabulous entrance anywhere they go. Also known as fantasy hair, wearers can sport a multicolored unicorn theme or make half the strands their favorite pastel color. Anyone who wants curls, regardless of size, can get this without dealing with a chemical process or hot iron.

Hair extension tape is fairly easy to remove but it has an intense holding power that is best handled by someone with experience. An alternative would be to use an oil based remover that helps the hair slide off in a minute or less. This method of removal is also the least likely to damage hair when done right. The tape method also allows for easy reapplication.

Many people who are in front of the cameras like this method because of the maintenance and natural flow of the hair. These styles also protect their natural strands from extreme conditions that come with traveling or being on a stage. For those who have active lives, this is a better choice than a wig, which can get hot and sometimes does not look natural.

While adding hair, or changing it, can be exciting, it also calls for maintenance. People who wear any type of weave have the double duty of caring for their own hair and the newly applied mane. Those with naturally curly tresses may find that a new type of conditioner may be needed since oil tends to separate most bonding methods. There are some products on the market made especially made for diverse hair types that will not affect the weave.

Hair weaves also allow people to transition from short to long hair without struggling for styles in between. To keep the hair underneath hydrated, it is best to use a conditioning shampoo, followed by a moisturizing treatment made from light oils. Salons often have people on site that can recommend the best protocol.

Besides being easy and fast to apply, this method is growing in popularity because the tape is not easy to detect. Unlike the traditional braiding method, it is also the least painful application method. This type of extension will hold up through vigorous activity, perspiration, and even the occasional bed head.
