The Beliefs Associated With An Olive Grove Baptist Church

By Betty Wagner

The Baptist Church is a bible believing church. Thus, the supremacy of the Bible is emphasized. According to scripture, heaven and earth will pass away. However, no single word of scripture will pass without being fulfilled. Most of the prophecies have already been fulfilled. It is only a few of them that are presently pending fulfillment. Scripture was written thousands of years ago. However, it is still relevant in modern day times. Every belief of an Olive Grove Baptist Church comes directly from the Holy Bible. Scripture is clear. Actually, it does not have any contradictions.

Most of the beliefs of a Baptist come from the New Testament section of scripture and particularly the four gospel books that form the first four chapters of scripture. That does not in any way mean that he does not have regard for other books of the Holy Bible. All Bible books are equally important to a true believer.

Christians believe in eternity. A real believer knows that he will not live forever because earthly life is just but a journey. He understands that there is a day when he will die and that will mark the start of eternal life. One will either go to heaven or hell after his death. It all depends on the earthly actions of a person.

Baptism is a vital Baptist belief as the name of this Christian church implies. This name has a significant implication. From the name, it is accurate to conclude that one has to be baptized so that he can become a part of the flock. Without the process of Baptism, no human being can become a follower of the Christian religion.

Baptism facilitates the cleansing of sins. There is no person who is free of sins. Every human being on earth has sinned. The moment that a baby enters the world, he does so loaded with original sins that were passed down from Adam and Eve. These two people were the first sinners in the world. They disobeyed instructions.

One has to accept that he is a sinner. After doing so, he should ask for forgiveness. After the forgiveness of sins, an individual will need to become saved. Salvation is not the end of the road. After becoming saved, one has to repent. This involves totally changing lifestyle. One will need to get rid of his old and sinful lifestyle.

Another Christian belief is attending church. Most Christians normally attend service on Sunday. This is the day that is considered the seventh day of the week. Man should work for six days and on the seventh day he needs to rest. To some believers, the seventh day is actually on Saturday. It is a good thing to congregate with other believers.

Humans were made to be religious. A person who is not religious is simply lacking something. Religion completes a human. It makes him to be whole. There is the need for physical, mental, and spiritual health. There are a number of religions out there. Christianity is the most popular religion on earth. It has more than three billion followers.
