Now for those who do not know, it is actually from this holiday where the holiday known as Halloween got its origin. It was supposedly the time of the year where the afterlife is open and that living people may reunite with their dead loved ones for a night.
Now everyone knows that Christmas is known to be the birth of Christ but what many do not know is that the event itself did not happen on December 24. The date December 24 came from the date of the Pagan holiday which is known as Yule. This event transpires during December 23 and it is the time wherein the Sun God is born anew.
Now Easter Day is another widely celebrated tradition that many kids would celebrate as well. However, according to the Druidic lore, this holiday actually came from Ostara which is the time of fertility and is on the month of March 21. The Easter bunny actually came from the symbol of the Goddess of fertility which was actually a rabbit that was holding an egg.
Now Beltane, which happens on the start of summer, is yet another crucial event because it is the day wherein the Sun God, Bel, would receive his coronation. Now Beltane literally translates to the Fire of Bel which means that it is during this time that the Sun God has received his powers and is bestowing it to the earth. The result of this is the blooming and blossoming of the flora on earth.
A very interesting holiday that the witches would often celebrate would of course be the Mabon which is a time of feasting. This event would happen on the 21st of every September and would mark the Autumn Equinox. It is a time to pay respects and dues to the meeting of the day and the night wherein both will have equal time during a day.
Now Litha is known as Midsummer Night and is the time where the day is at its longest. It is actually on the same date as the famous feast of St. John the Baptist which transpires in the 21st of June. The witches believe that during this time, the Sun God is at the peak of his power.
