If You Are Wondering About Disney World Autism Friendly

By Margaret Anderson

Going out of town with your family is a great adventure. You can get out of your daily grind and see some new things. You could also spend a lot of time with your loved ones. You may have a youngster who is on the autism spectrum. If you decide to visit Disney World autism friendly accommodations are there. Research this before you go so you are prepared on your trip.

You could look on their website or call them to see what may be of help. Your loved one may need special accommodations with their sleeping arrangements or their meals. Having these arrangements will give everyone in your family peace of mind so the trip is enjoyable for everyone.

Adorable characters may greet you at the door when you get into Disney World. A person will be under the costume, of course, and it is their job to cheer you up and help you have a good time. The shows can be very entertaining. Make sure you get a schedule so you know when they start. Try to be on time so you do not miss anything.

You may need to call the venue and get firsthand information. Sometimes websites are not as clear as just speaking to a human. Get the phone number and make a list of questions to ask them. Tell them your youngster is on the autism spectrum and then explain what they need in the way of accommodations. They are required to accommodate if the issue is diagnosed and a doctor has confirmed that he or she has it.

You may consider bringing any proof of your loved one's diagnosis from a medical doctor. Business people may want to see it so they are free of liabilities. They can be sued if something were to go wrong when the person with the disability was on their premises.

The paperwork may help them feel at ease that their services are up to par and they are serving their customers in the best way that they can with the knowledge that they have about different disabilities. You may find that they are not as accommodating as you would like even if they try so make sure you are prepared with midnight snacks for the person with autism. Food needs usually need to be made specially for this type of person.

Enjoy your trip with your family. Bring a camera so you can take some special memories home with you. This is a special time so partake of it and savor each moment of it with your family. Let yourself relax from your usual responsibilities.

You may want to keep a journal, too, in case you have some interesting experiences. You may have some thoughts in your mind that may get lost while you are traveling and getting busy with things. Keep this in mind and write down your thoughts each day as things happen.
