General Information About Paulownia Trees And Other Trees In General

By Harriett Crosby

Paulownia trees feature amongst the oldest and best trees around the globe. The term tree holds many definitions. Under botany trees are defined as perennial plants with trunks, supporting leaves, and branches. Under special circumstances the definition is narrowed to woody plants or the plants of a predetermined height. Palms, ferns, bamboo, and bananas are included in the wider definition of trees.

Different plants have different lifespan some live for several years whereas some are seasonal. They develop to different heights. The current tallest tree is approximated to be 115.6 meters equivalent to 379 feet. It is believed that plants may only grow up to 426 feet equivalent to 130 meters. Vegetation is amongst the first living things to have occupied the Earth. They are estimated to have occupied the Earth some 370 million years back.

Vegetation has undergone evolution in response to changing environmental conditions and factors like competition. They had to grow tall as part of evolutionary adaptation. They grow tall due to competition for space and sunlight. Tall plants access sunlight enabling them to photosynthesize as opposed to short ones. The short plants have modified structures to ensure their survival. They coil around taller vegetation for support and to access sunlight.

They grow in great numbers in tropical areas. The tropics have the necessary growth conditions like sufficient sunlight, adequate rainfall, and fertile soils. The diversity of trees remains unclear since different species germinate in various places under varying climatic conditions. Botanists are still gathering data and surveying the different species.

A typical tree consists of parts such as branches, trunk or stem, leaves, and roots. Each part has a special function that it serves. The stem or trunk supports the branches. Roots provide support or anchorage as well as absorbing nutrients from the soil. Leaves photosynthesize under sunlight to provide food required for development and growth of the tree.

Plants play a great part in controlling pollution, moderating the climate, and reducing erosion. They clean excess carbon dioxide from the environment through carbon cycle. They maintain and hold soil strongly around roots thus minimizing erosion on soil. They are a rich source of fruits and home to birds. They are utilized as medicine in therapy of many illnesses. Some function as worship places and shrines for various communities.

Plants are presently under threat as a result of human activities. Cultivators are cutting down trees when they open up land for cultivation. Plants are of great importance to both the surroundings and humans. The need to preserve vegetation led to creation of universal organizations whose responsibility is to encourage and teach people to plant more plants. The world environment day is observed as a reminder to people to conserve the environment.

Paulownia trees are grown in better conditions to increase possibilities of survival and growth in adverse environmental conditions. The tree nurseries in this area are attended to by qualified agriculturalists. Experts in the region conduct adequate research to make sure they can sufficiently deal with every disease affecting plants. They may be contacted via their blogs on the internet.
