In any creation process, there are various steps that have to be followed from beginning to end. The first steps is to ensure the mold is mixed and measured correctly. Where individuals are using many colored putties, they will need to measure the same amount across all the available putties.

Your putties should then be rolled in to different balls. When rolling, take time to carefully pass them through your fingers. This is meant to eliminate all the creases that may have formed during the ball creation process. The creases can make the final processes more complicated.

When all the balls have been created, a person will now need to mold and set his putties. For this specific purpose, he has to ensure that he uses a wax paper. The wax papers are the most preferred as they do not stick to putties. This in turn makes the setting process much faster.

From the molding and setting phase, always make sure you do not throw away the excess material. This can always be molded in to something else. This must however be done as soon as possible as you only have five minutes before it becomes unusable.

Once done with the molding, it has to be set in a place where it can be left undisturbed. Always follow the directions that have been included in the package. Most packages recommend that you leave it for about twenty to thirty minutes from the moment the molding process was completed.

With any creation process, it will be common to find that uneven edges may be present. Such edges can be evened out through the use of scissors. A craft knife can also be used in order to achieve better results. Any thin spots can be covered through the application of more putty.

A mold can be used to make a wide variety of items. There are those that use it to make textures, buttons or even hand crafted items. When in the process of using the molds, ensure you do not infringe on any copyright laws as this might land you in to trouble.
