End Your Pursuit Of Happiness

By Evan Sanders

End your pursuit of happiness.

What?! Why?!

Happiness isn't something that just shows up in our lives whenever we feel like it. Happiness depends on our actions.

So I will say it again. It's time to end your pursuit of happiness.

Society has fed us this story that we must always be in the pursuit of happiness throughout our entire lives. However, there's not really much support in terms of how to live a happy life. Sure books have been written and countless movies made, but there's still a hole in the entire teaching of the concept altogether.

So instead of being in this constant pursuit of happiness, come to find that a real sense of fulfillment and achievement in this world comes from going after our dreams and taking daily actions towards achieving them.

Happiness is absolutely a great thing to have in your life, but it's also something that's very fleeting like any other emotion. If you try to run after it directly, time and time again it will elude you. However, if you start to focus on building your dreams and seeing your goals come true, happiness seamlessly enters into your life. Isn't that interesting? Maybe we shouldn't be chasing happiness after all.

In order to truly feel like you are living you have to be growing. Chasing happiness does not necessarily guarantee that you are going to grow. However, if you focus on daily actions and tasks that can help you develop as a person over time, there's a good change you will find that happiness you've been looking for in the long run.

So what if you tried on this idea for a while and allowed yourself to focus on growth instead of happiness? Who can really say what might happen?

Happiness is connected to personal fulfillment.

Just some food for thought.
