Steps On How To Do Stage Makeup Kits For Schools

Whether you are participating in a dance or a musical, it is critical that you put on stage makeup. Stage makeup kits for schools affect the public perception of your stage performance. When done well, your performance will be lively but if it is poorly done, you will appear as if you are ill.

It is critical that you make sure that your face is clean before you touch it with any makeup. The toner that you choose to use to even your complexion should be free of alcohol. It is because alcohol evaporates faster despite the fact that the stage lights will make your skin dry when it is exposed to light. Using a toner that contains alcohol will just increase the rate of drying.

The foundation should be slightly darker than your skin color. To do this, you are supposed to start its application from your forehead as you move upwards towards your hairline. Then apply foundation to the entire face. If some conspicuous parts will not be covered by your performance costume, make sure you apply it to these areas so that you do not have a mask effect.

It is important that you accent your eyes using an eye shadow first. You should pick a shade that is light neutral. You are supposed to use it to put emphasize the brow bone. Then take a darker shade and use it to highlight the eyelids. Picking two shades that blend will ensure that there will be good blend where they meet. To achieve a dramatic look, line the top of your eyelids using a dark or brown shade.

After the above, you are supposed to do the blush and rouge. The blush will only work well if the foundation is well applied. A key point that many stage performers of makeup artist tend to miss, is that one should smile while applying the blush. If it is a boy, the blush should be paler that the skin tone. In ladies, it should have a rosy color that will complement their skin color.

Lip lining should then ensue. The color of the lip liner should blend in with that of the lipstick. This is vital because the lip liner will hold the lipstick without it bleeding into your face when you sweat. Then apply the lip color. The color of the lipstick should match your costume. Therefore, you must make it a point to consult your costumer on what color of attire you will wear on stage.

You should then work to set your makeup. This is done by using a translucent powder that will hold your make up so that in case you sweat during the performance, the sweat will not wash it away. To do this effectively, you must use a brush to put on the right amount of powder to your face.

Before getting ready for the performance, move back from the mirror so you have a general view of how you look like. Your make up should appear darker. It is because the illumination of the stage lights will make it lighter. Make sure that every individual in your audience will be able to get your expression in whichever angle or distance.
