Fun Daytime Things To Do In Rome That You Won't Forget About

By Debra Moore

So many things happen in Rome. So many quotes come from this ancient city. It is not only the buildings and the sculptures that you can learn from. It is also the culture that will tell you so much more about the city. Not only are there fine restaurants to go to at night, but there are fun daytime things to do in Rome as well.

Travelling is about learning. You can go to university and study a text book. However, you will learn so much more by mingling with the people, sampling the food and studying the architecture. You will learn something new everyday. Most people learn something about themselves as well. There is a lot of growth that takes place when you travel.

You can then treat yourself to an ice-cream. Rome sells some of the best ice-creams around. People are always queuing up for a gelato. They may be taking a breaking before they start their next tour. You can watch some of the street performers or you can browse one of the markets. You will never get tired of these daytime activities.

The Spanish Steps are also a nice place where you can take a break when you are feeling a little exhausted. These are not just a couple of stairs where you get to rest your weary legs. It is a well known region which draws in the crowds. Many people sit here soaking it all in. The Spanish Steps are surrounded by some of the best boutiques.

The Colosseum is another site that you can't miss out on. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. There are even separate tours that are arranged for kids. They will have the chance to experience life as a Roman back in these times. There are props available for along with costumes so they can pretend that they are a gladiator.

For a person who doesn't come from Europe, going to one of the markets can be an amazing experience. You will see fruit and vegetables that you haven't seen before. This is perfect for someone who has self catering accommodation. However, even if you are in a hotel, it is worth the effort to buy something to make a sandwich.

The Piazza Navona is a great spot for when you just need to take a break and simply relax before heading off to your next tour. This is a square with restaurants and shops that are artistically displayed. You can sit down somewhere and watch the crowds go by. You can also watch some of the entertainment which does happen every so often.

You can't leave Rome without doing a little shopping. It doesn't mean that to spend a fortune. There are many little cobble stone streets with shops that are really great. You can find great deals at the markets. Of course, if you do have more money to spend, you can head out towards the Colosseum where there are more boutique shops. Here you will find clothes and jewellery.
