How To Prepare For Meeting In Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics anonymous always recommend the participants to remain anonymous especially in social and public media. The group helps people and other alcoholics. The AA group does not affiliate with any government or social organization. The meetings are made supportive environments for people who wanted to recover from the effects and addictions of alcohols. The foundation is being expressed in at least twelve methods or steps to make a person finally quit. When it concerns with leaving aa, individuals must participate the group in order for them to stop their bad habits of drinking alcohol.

For individuals to prepare for the meetings, they must understand the purpose and characters of AA. This group or session will help people who have problems in drinking. They will assist them to stay sober in order to achieve sobriety. This group does not recruit members but instead welcome them to be a part of the group.

The big book meetings are the type that uses the big books and spark a discussion between all members. The pages within the book will be read loud and clear and all members will take turns in reading it on front. The room will be filled with discussion pertaining in the pages of the book.

Familiarize yourself with the structures during the meetings. Every session will take at least an hour or so. The format will be set and structural and thoroughly planned out. After the first one, every individual must expect that the next ones will be the same. Likely, the topics of the discussion are the ones that would change.

The location and specific assembly can be formed by formal or casual meetings that are based depending on the location of event. Some could be located in churches but not totally engage in religious beliefs for the matter. Some assemblies will also encourage people to stop their addiction not only by alcohol but also drug and smoking addictions.

Listen attentively and do not share any experience if you are not feeling comfortable. It would be better to listen to others and learn how the meeting will take place. Even though the chairperson will require an individual to participate and share their problems, they are still not obligated to do so.

The beginner meetings are for those people who have just begun the process of recovering. The persons are still new with the program and wanted to learn more from it. The structure of meeting and agendas are still the same as the traditional types.

Get testimonials from current members. They can recommend a few crucial things that will improve your courage into participating. They will also suggest important things to a person and set them into the right meeting suited for their problems.

Price is not a problem for people who wanted to be a part of AA. The service is open to all people and they do not have to pay any membership fees. However, donations are also appreciated especially when all members want to conduct some parties for all the members and participants.
