Valentine's Day Gifts on a Budget

By Steve Alexander

Red Letter Days has a huge range of gift ideas for your other half, often at extremely good value compared to booking directly. Each of the gift experiences offers much more than the usual bunch of red roses, and is the perfect way to spoil someone special.

The best way possible of relaxing together has to be a spa day for two. Away from home, and with nothing to do but chill out, you'll be pampered in luxurious settings. Think about a day spa experience rather than an expensive overnight break, to unwind with swimming pools, saunas and Jacuzzis galore. You'll each enjoy a treatment, as well as having full use of the spa facilities, and a healthy light lunch to look forward to.

When you're in a couple, it's always nice to have something to look forward to, and presents that can benefit both parties are always that little bit better. The way to a man's heart has to be food, so a gourmet experience at one of London's delicious restaurants is the perfect gift for him on Valentine's Day.

Just a short walk from Mayfair (perfectly positioned for pre-dinner people watching) and Buckingham Palace (for that romantic after supper stroll), why not book a dining experience at the Hilton London Green Park Hotel? Toast the occasion with a champagne cocktail before three courses of carefully prepared fare from the a la carte menu.

If budgets are really tight, whisk her down the river for Champagne and macaroons by the Thames at the Cake Boy Cafe. Take your lucky lady for a nice walk along the river, watching London life glide by. Finish at the cafe where a glass of fizz and a delectable selection of patisserie will be waiting inside, or even on the patio, if the sun decides to shine.
