Maybe you've made a big legal mess or you've lost another job. Its possible that you were abandoned by both your partner and family because of your actions. Whatever the reason is, its time to take a good look at yourself and finally be determined to quit drinking alcohol.

People who believe they abuse alcohol are usually correct. However, admitting it is much easier than doing something about it. Most drinkers know in the back of their mind that they have a problem.

It would certainly be a lot easier if alcoholics can just buy Magic Pills to cure themselves. You could also be hypnotized to reduce or even eliminate your need for liquor. A time machine could also work because you could go back to when you actually started drinking alcohol.

Sadly, there are no magic pills or gimmicky methods. In order to quit drinking alcohol, you must go through a process to learn how to live without liquor. For some, it is going to be painful; alcohol cravings can be lengthy. The great news is there are strategies and tools that could help you be successful. For heavy drinkers who would go through withdrawal and detox, it is important to ask for a doctor's suggestion before quitting. Others may only experience minimal physical discomfort. lots of alcoholics have gone through this a time or two on their own. It can take years before one could get rid of the physical cravings. This type of honest introspection is something you will have to get used to in order to come to terms with your life and recover fully. You would realize when you are prepared and committed to quit drinking liquor.

Ask for Suggestions from a Physician

The damage done to your system is something only a physician can assess. The physician could also assess how you should quit drinking. There are two options - do it alone or be medically supervised in a hospital.

Tell People (who understand)

Telling those you trust that you would give up drinking liquor could also help since they would understand and help you. If you need support, these individuals would be there for you.

You Need a Support Group

One place to be with individuals who have gone through what you are going through is the 12 Step Meetings. Looking for 12 Step meetings in your area would get you started. Various meetings draw different people. If you can not go to 90 meetings in 90 days then just try to go to as many meetings as you can. You would find out more about quitting in these meetings than anywhere else.

You would know that its worth it when you have reached this point. Just continue to be determined and control the cravings?live a life with no alcohol in your system.
