By Anna Butler

A room that has been decorated with bamboo plants grown in ports seems beautiful. There are many colors of containers and the choice is dependent on the likes of owner. When in garden, the chances of it spreading as a weed are minimized because the pot prevents this bad act. Having Black Bamboo Plants in pots is better than growing it on ground because it can be moved from one place to another. This is nice in that it can help in making a venue a bit beautiful when used for decoration purposes.

It is true that almost all species of bamboo can do well when grown in pots. However some species may require more care and attention than others. It important to know the amount of time available to provide efficient care for the species you intend to grow. Some species also grow more vigorously than others. This indicates that some pots become more root bound quicker than others depending on type of species present.

Sunlight really affects their rate of growth. Different types have different requirements of sunlight. If you intend to keep them within the room, choose that does not require a lot of sunlight. Choose the smaller ones if the space within the room is limited. Never choose tall ones if you intend to place them within the room.

Some species are fast growers and are said to be running type. For the running type their roots become vessel bound after less time and therefore require replacement. If precautionary measures are not taken in time, it may die. Clumping ones are slow growers and may take longer periods before there is need for replacement.

Once a containerized type becomes roots bound, an appropriate precautionary measure need to be taken. One may either decide to repot it or divide it for its betterment. Dividing is mainly carried out during the winter and the spring to prohibit it from dying. This is the most appropriate time because the rate of growth is at minimum.

Repotting involves placing it in a new vessel which is likely to be larger. This process is less delicate and can be done any month of the year irrespective of the season. Abnormal changes in temperature may make it unhealthy since there is less insulation of roots because are close to the surface. The negative effect may be reduced by covering the vessel with burlap which acts as an insulator during cold seasons. Taking it indoor could help too.

During summer there is much evaporation of water. At the same time the rate of transpiration is usually very high. In mind that there is less insulation of the potted one due to less soil compared to that on the garden, it has very high chances of drying, to prevent this, provide it with as much water as possible. Under extreme conditions, make a point of moving it to a shady place.

When acquiring a nice vessel for the plant go for which will enhance stability once planted. Consider a shorter one which is which is wide. This helps in maintaining the stability. Some people do fill the container with rocks at the bottom to enhance the stability. Choose the color of interest.
