Why Do I Advocate City Bicycle Efforts?

By Rob Sutter

It seems like city bicycle efforts have continually been brought up to the surface and I'm happy to see it. I believe that this activity is one of the finest when it comes to both exercise and travel, which means that it should be highlighted more often. It's one of the activities that I have enjoyed for many years as well. While I understand that there are actual benefits associated with this movement, I'd be lying if I said that I didn't have a personal connection to it.

While it may be somewhat embarrassing to say it now, training wheels were ones that I had used for much longer than other kids. During that time in my life, my friends seemed to catch onto the art of riding on two wheels rather easily. This wasn't the case for me, though, as I spent more time trying to learn about this than anything else. I knew that I wanted to get better and the fact that I enjoyed cycling in general only made me want it that much more.

After I started to get the hang of riding about on two wheels, though, I couldn't help but to become more apt to exploration. I enjoyed going through the wooded area outside of my middle school, for example, because it proved to be the ideal spot for riding. It was here that I got my first instances of pain from falling down quite a few times. I endured the path, though, and I think that it helped to shape me into someone who enjoys unique yet intriguing experiences.

I am still interested in the city bicycle efforts that are done today, even though I am without a ride now. Mine was stolen but still I found myself interested in companies along the lines of Linus Bike. This entity, amongst others, is able to focus on the stories that talk about the advancements made in the way of cycling. It's clear that more methods have been taken up in order to make matters easier for those who commute and I am happy to see that there is a great level of interest tied into the work done.

Will I eventually replace the bike that was stolen at that point in my life? Of course I will because I miss the thrill of cruising around on such a vehicle. I want to be able to become fit and I think that this item, more than any other, grants the best kind of casual exercise anyone can ask for. More importantly than that, though, it's an activity that has been with me for so many years and I would hate to see that interest die out when it shouldn't have to.
